Gaffer for Sci-Fi Drama Pilot (Volunteer)

Hey filmmakers, we're on the hunt for a skilled Gaffer to light up our upcoming sci-fi drama pilot in Atlanta. This is an independent production with a compelling, character-driven story set in a near-future dystopia, think 'Children of Men' meets 'Arrival' but with our own unique visual flair. We're aiming for a moody, artful aesthetic that really enhances the emotional stakes. As our Gaffer, you'll be instrumental in translating our DP's vision into stunning visuals. Key responsibilities include designing and executing lighting setups, managing the lighting department, and ensuring creative and technical excellence on set. We're looking for someone with 3-5 years of experience in film or TV production, particularly with a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, grip equipment, and power distribution. You should be comfortable with both natural and artificial light sources. While we have some gear, a Gaffer who can contribute additional lighting packages (if necessary) would be a huge plus. Please share your reel or a portfolio showcasing your best work in lighting. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for mid-September, spanning roughly 4-5 days. Hours will be typical production days, likely 10-12 hours. We're a passionate, tight-knit crew, and while this is a volunteer position, you'll get full credit and all meals will be provided on set.
