Gaffer (Best Boy/Girl) for Indie Short
Hey everyone, Luc here. I'm operating Steadicam on an upcoming indie short film shooting in Montreal and we're looking for a Gaffer (or Best Boy/Girl, depending on experience) to round out our lighting department. This is a dramatic short, exploring themes of memory and loss with a somewhat melancholic, dreamlike visual tone. We'll be relying on expressive lighting to help tell the story in unique ways. It's a small crew, so a collaborative spirit and a can-do attitude are super important. You'll be working closely with the DP to execute their vision, managing electrical distribution, setting up and striking lights, and generally keeping things safe and efficient. We'll need you to have experience with various lighting fixtures, grip equipment, and a solid understanding of set safety. Please have your own basic kit (meters, tools, gloves, etc., but we're renting the big stuff). A strong reel showcasing your work is a must. Shoot dates are TBD but looking at four consecutive days in early to mid-September, likely 10-12 hour days. We'll provide all necessary rental equipment and catered meals on set. Looking forward to seeing your work!
