Art Director, Period Short Film (Paid)

We are seeking a talented Art Director for a compelling independent short film. This is a period drama set in the 1950s, a poignant story focusing on themes of quiet desperation and unexpected hope. We need someone who can bring a nuanced, authentic visual style to the world, capturing the era's aesthetic without falling into caricature. Your responsibilities will include overseeing set dressing, props, and costume consultation to ensure historical accuracy and thematic consistency. You'll work closely with the director to realize their vision, collaborating on color palettes and overall aesthetic choices. Experience with period piece art direction, even on student or micro-budget films, is a must. Please have a strong portfolio or reel demonstrating your design sensibility and attention to detail. Expected shoot dates are approximately 3-4 days in late July in the greater Los Angeles area, with prep work commencing in early July. Compensation is $200-400 per day, depending on experience and the scope of work. We will provide a small budget for materials and prop rentals. We're a small, passionate crew and are looking for someone who can hit the ground running with creativity and resourcefulness.
