Gaffer for Sci-Fi Short (Deferred Pay)

Hey Atlanta filmmakers. We're looking for a talented Gaffer to join our crew for an upcoming sci-fi short film. This is an ambitious project, a suspenseful, character-driven story set in a near-future dystopia, with a cool visual style blending practical effects and atmospheric lighting. We've got some really interesting locations lined up that will benefit from creative lighting solutions. Your main responsibilities will include collaborating with the DP on lighting design, leading the lighting setup and striking, and ensuring all electrical safety protocols are followed. You'll work closely with the rest of the camera and grip team to bring the director's vision to life. We're open to all experience levels, but you should have a solid understanding of lighting principles, various fixture types, and power distribution. While we'll have a basic grip package, we'd appreciate if you have some of your own essential tools or access to specific gear for unique looks, but it's not a requirement. Please share your reel or examples of past work. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for late July, early August, likely over 3-4 days including a couple of overnights. Exact schedule and hours will be finalized soon. We're a small, passionate independent production, offering deferred pay, meals and craft services will be provided on set.
