Art Department for Documentary

Hey film fam, I'm a Set Decorator looking for a passionate Art Assistant for an upcoming independent documentary project. This film explores the vibrant, unsung history of underground ballroom culture in NYC, aiming for a raw, intimate, and celebratory tone. It's truly a labor of love, a chance to help bring a powerful story to life. You'll be assisting with prop sourcing, set dressing, organization, and general art department support on set. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to get hands-on experience in a documentary art department, especially if you have an eye for detail and a knack for finding unique items. No specific gear is required, but an enthusiasm for the subject matter and a willingness to learn are key. Experience isn't mandatory, but any background in art, design, or production support is a plus. Shoot dates are TBD but tentatively scheduled for a few weekends over October and November, total hours flexible but expect 8-10 hour days when we're on location. We'll provide snacks, good vibes, and a great learning environment!
