Senior Production Designer, Feature Doc

Hey there, this is James Wright, a sound designer on an exciting independent production looking for a Senior Production Designer. We're gearing up for a roughly 4-6 week shoot in Austin, TX for a feature-length documentary. This isn't your typical talking-heads doc, it's a visually driven historical piece with dramatic re-enactment segments, so we're aiming for a rich, evocative aesthetic that really pulls the audience into the past. We need someone who can help us define and execute the visual world of the film, from set dressing and prop sourcing to collaborating closely with the director and DP on overall tone. You'll be responsible for leading the art department, managing budgets related to design, and ensuring our locations and sets tell an authentic story. We're looking for someone with significant experience in narrative or documentary film production design, a strong creative vision, and a proven ability to work efficiently and resourcefully. Please have a solid portfolio or reel ready to share. We're tentatively looking at a start date in late fall, early winter. Compensation is $300-500/day, depending on experience, with meals provided on set. Let's make something beautiful.
