Locations for Documentary

Hey filmmakers, I'm helping an independent production find a skilled Location Scout/Manager for an upcoming documentary. This film explores the vibrant, often hidden, subcultures of Sydney, focusing on their unique urban and natural environments. We're looking for someone who can help us discover visually striking and logistically sound locations that truly capture the spirit of these communities. Your main responsibilities will include scouting, securing permits, liaising with property owners, and managing location logistics on shoot days. We need someone with proven experience on mid to large-scale productions, especially in a documentary setting, who understands the nuances of working with real people and places. You should be familiar with Sydney's diverse areas and have a knack for finding those overlooked gems. A strong portfolio showcasing your work, including challenging or unique locations you've managed, is essential. Please have your own reliable transport and a good understanding of local permitting processes. Shoot dates are approximate, looking at late September to early October for about 5-7 days of scouting and 10-12 shoot days initially, with potential for more. Hours will vary, but expect full production days. We'll provide all necessary production insurance and a clear brief, plus a great crew to work with. Daily rate is very competitive, as listed.
