Entry-Level DP, Web Series

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Director of Photography for an upcoming independent web series shooting in New York City. This is a dramatic comedy, exploring the absurdities of dating in your late twenties, with a grounded, naturalistic visual style. Think mumblecore meets modern sitcom. We're looking for someone with a sharp eye for visual storytelling and a strong collaborative spirit. Key responsibilities include collaborating closely with the director on shot design, lighting, and camera operation, ensuring excellent image quality, and managing the camera department on set. Ideal candidates will have some prior experience as a DP on student films, shorts, or similar small-scale projects, and a solid understanding of lighting techniques. You should own or have access to your own camera package (e.g., Blackmagic Pocket, Sony a7S III, or similar cinema-grade mirrorless/DSLR setup, with lens kit). A compelling reel demonstrating your visual aesthetic is essential. The shoot is expected to be 5-7 days, spread across two to three weeks in late July/early August, with 10-12 hour days. Exact dates are TBD but flexible. We will provide all necessary production support, including gaffer, grip, and production assistant. Travel and meal stipends will be provided in addition to the flat rate. This is a great opportunity to gain significant experience on a narrative series and build your portfolio.
