Assistant Editor, Feature Film (Toronto)

We're looking for an Assistant Editor to join our post-production team for an independent feature film. This project is a character-driven drama, exploring themes of resilience and community in a compelling, intimate way. It features a diverse cast and a unique visual style that we're very excited about. Your role will involve organizing footage, creating dailies, managing proxies, syncing audio, and preparing sequences for the lead editor. You'll also assist with media management and archival. This is a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient post-production workflow. We anticipate about 3-4 weeks of work, starting in early September 2026. This is a mid-level position, so 2-3 years of experience as an Assistant Editor on features or long-form content is required. You should be proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and ideally have some familiarity with DaVinci Resolve workflows. Please provide a reel or a list of projects you've worked on, highlighting your specific contributions. We are seeking someone meticulous, organized, and a good communicator. We'll be working out of a rented editing suite in Toronto, with some flexibility for remote work if needed after the initial setup phase. Compensation is $100-200/day, based on experience.
