Assistant Editor, Pilot (Volunteer)

A quirky sci-fi pilot about a sentient coffee pot trying to unite humanity needs an Assistant Editor to help bring its bizarre vision to life. This is a unique opportunity to work on an independent production with a passionate crew. You'll be assisting the lead editor with organizing footage, creating dailies, syncing audio, and prepping sequences. This role is crucial for keeping our post-production workflow smooth. While experience is a plus, we're open to enthusiastic individuals at any level looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. You should have access to your own editing software (Premiere Pro preferred) and a reliable workstation. A strong interest in sci-fi and comedy is a bonus. The post-production period is estimated to be about 3-4 weeks, primarily in September 2026, with flexible hours that can be worked around your schedule. This is a volunteer position, offering valuable credit, a fantastic networking opportunity, and meals during longer work sessions. Located in Chicago, IL.
