Senior Production Designer, Sci-Fi Short (Miami)

Hey everyone, I'm putting out a call for a senior Production Designer for an upcoming sci-fi short film a small production company is producing here in Miami. This is a really cool, atmospheric project exploring themes of isolation and discovery, set primarily in a unique underwater lab environment (no, you won't be diving, don't worry!). We're looking for someone to help bring this world to life, focusing on practical set dressing and prop design, with some light fabrication. Your main responsibilities will include developing the visual aesthetic with the director, sourcing and creating set elements and props, and overseeing their placement during production. We're looking for someone with a strong portfolio in production design, especially with experience in sci-fi or period pieces. Please include a link to your reel or portfolio when you apply. You should be comfortable leading a small art department and working within a defined budget. Shoot dates are tentatively set for late July, roughly three 12-hour days. We're offering $100-200/day, depending on experience. We'll be providing all necessary materials for set construction and props, along with transportation to and from the set location within Miami-Dade county.
