Camera for Documentary

We are seeking a talented Camera Operator for an impactful independent documentary exploring the unique underground music scene in Miami. This project delves into untold stories and vibrant subcultures, offering a compelling narrative perspective. You will be responsible for operating our primary camera, ensuring high-quality cinematic capture of interviews, verité scenes, and B-roll. Key responsibilities include framing, focus pulling, managing camera settings, and collaborating closely with our Director of Photography to execute their vision. We're looking for someone with at least 3-5 years of experience in documentary filmmaking, a strong portfolio showcasing diverse camera work, and experience working independently. You should be comfortable with various shooting environments, including low light conditions, and possess a strong understanding of visual storytelling. We prefer candidates who can bring their own camera package (e.g., Canon C300 Mark II/III, Sony FX6/9, or similar professional cinema camera and lens kit). We will provide specific supplementary gear, production insurance, and craft services. Shoot dates are approximately late October to early December, primarily on weekends and some weekdays, with an average of 8-10 hour days. This is a passion project, offering points on the back end and deferred compensation, with the potential for festival runs and distribution.
