1st AC, Feature Film (NM)

An independent production is seeking a talented and dedicated 1st Assistant Camera for an upcoming feature film shooting in Albuquerque, NM. This project is a gritty neo-western drama, delving into themes of justice and survival in the modern Southwest. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a keen eye for detail when it comes to focus. Your key responsibilities will include pulling sharp focus, managing camera equipment, maintaining lenses, and assisting the DP with set-up and breakdown. You'll be instrumental in ensuring our cinematic vision is captured cleanly and efficiently. We require previous professional experience as a 1st AC on narrative features or shorts, a strong understanding of various camera systems (we'll be shooting with an ARRI Alexa Mini LF), and the ability to troubleshoot on the fly. Please provide a camera department resume or list of relevant projects. We can provide camera and lens packages. Shoot dates are TBD but anticipate approximately 20-25 days in late Fall 2024, generally 10-12 hour days. This is a volunteer position offering screen credit, IMDb credit, and meals during production. While the project is low-budget, we're committed to telling a powerful story and offering valuable experience on a feature-length production.
