Camera Operator, Documentary Feature

Documentary Camera Vancouver, BC mid Budget: $100-200/day

Hey folks, we're looking for a sharp Camera Operator for an upcoming independent documentary feature here in Vancouver. This project is a really compelling look into local community activism, focusing on human stories with a raw, observational style. We're aiming for something intimate and emotionally resonant, so someone with a good eye for naturalistic visual storytelling would be a great fit. Your primary responsibility will be operating our main camera, ensuring we capture strong, evocative footage. We're looking for someone with around 3-5 years of experience in documentary or similar observational work. You'll need to have your own camera package (mirrorless or small-form cine camera, lenses, tripod, basic audio scratch track capability). We're a small, dedicated team, so being adaptable and a good team player is key. Shoot dates are looking like 15-20 days spread out over August and September, mostly weekdays, 8-10 hour days. We'll provide lunch, snacks, and craft services on set. Please send over your resume and a link to your reel highlighting your operating work. Happy to chat more about the project details.
