Cinematographer, Documentary Series (LA-based)

Documentary Cinematography Los Angeles, CA any Budget: Equity partnership

Hey, Victor Langston here, I'm a Key Grip on an upcoming independent documentary series and we're looking for a skilled Cinematographer to join our team. This project delves into overlooked urban histories, blending archival footage with present-day interviews and atmospheric B-roll. We're aiming for a raw, intimate, and visually compelling style that truly captures the grit and heart of our subjects. Think verite, with a strong eye for composition and natural light. Your main responsibilities will include shooting interviews, capturing cinematic B-roll, and collaborating closely with the director to achieve our visual aesthetic. We need someone who can work efficiently with a small crew, adapt to various shooting environments (often run-and-gun), and contribute creatively to the visual storytelling. We don't have strict experience requirements, what matters most is your eye and your reel. Please have your own camera package suitable for documentary work (e.g., capable of high-quality HD or 4K capture, various lenses, basic lighting kit). Shoot dates are flexible but we anticipate starting principal photography in late summer, with a commitment of roughly 2-3 days a week for a few months. This is an equity partnership opportunity, so we're looking for someone invested in the project's success. Let's make something impactful together.
