Gaffer (Senior) for Sci-Fi Pilot

Seeking a talented and experienced Gaffer to lead the lighting department for an upcoming sci-fi pilot. This project is a visually ambitious, character-driven story with a dark, atmospheric tone, blending practical effects with subtle VFX. We're looking for someone who can translate complex lighting concepts into impactful visuals that elevate the narrative. As our Gaffer, you'll be responsible for executing the Director of Photography's lighting plan, managing the electric and grip crew, and ensuring all lighting is safe and efficient. We need someone with a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, equipment, and on-set problem-solving. You should have extensive experience gaffing on independent productions, ideally with a focus on genre work. Please have your own basic kit (though specialized gear will be provided or rented). A strong reel showcasing your work, particularly in dramatic or stylized projects, is essential. Shoot dates are approximately early fall for 5-7 days of principal photography, with some prep days beforehand. Hours will be typical independent production days. This is a partnership opportunity, offering co-producer credit and backend participation, based in Los Angeles.
