Gaffer for Sci-Fi Short Film

Looking for an experienced Gaffer for an upcoming Detroit-based sci-fi short film. This is an introspective drama exploring themes of AI and isolation. It's a character-driven piece with a strong visual style, relying heavily on natural light manipulation and subtle, atmospheric lighting design. We need someone who can help us craft a moody, futuristic aesthetic on a lean budget. Responsibilities include advising on lighting plans, managing the grip and electric crew, and executing all lighting setups. You'll work closely with our DP to bring their vision to life. Must have your own basic G&E kit, and ideally, access to additional lights (though we have a small rental budget). Please have a strong reel showcasing your narrative work. Experience with LED technology and creative problem-solving is a major plus. Shoot dates are TBD, aiming for 3-4 days in late summer/early fall. This is a deferred role, paid via a backend percentage, for a passionate filmmaker ready to contribute to a compelling independent production. Meals and craft services will be provided on set.
