Colorist, Mexico City Doc

Documentary Color Grading Mexico City, MX any Budget: Equity partnership

Our independent documentary production is seeking a talented Colorist to join our team in Mexico City. We're working on an intimate, character-driven documentary exploring the underground lucha libre scene, a vibrant world of tradition, passion, and hidden stories. The footage is gritty, often handheld, and we're looking for someone who can help us craft a raw, authentic visual style that enhances the emotional impact of our subjects. This is a crucial role in defining the film's final aesthetic. You'll be responsible for all aspects of color grading, working closely with the director to establish and maintain a consistent look. Experience with DaVinci Resolve or similar professional grading software is essential. While we don't require specific years of experience, a strong reel demonstrating your understanding of narrative and documentary grading is a must. You should also have access to your own calibrated monitoring setup. Post-production is slated to begin in the last week of August 2026, with an estimated 3-4 weeks of work depending on the complexity. While this is a partnership role (equity partnership), we can provide a comfortable workspace in Mexico City, and some meals will be covered during working sessions. Looking for someone collaborative and passionate about storytelling.
