Documentary Editor, Mid-Level, NOLA

Documentary Editing New Orleans, LA mid Budget: Revenue share

Hey filmmakers, I'm a camera operator on an independent documentary project and we're looking for a skilled editor to join our team in New Orleans. This film dives into the vibrant, often unseen, culinary world of New Orleans street food vendors. We're aiming for a gritty, authentic, and emotionally resonant tone, highlighting the passion and struggles behind these unique businesses. It's a really compelling story I think you'll enjoy piecing together. Your primary responsibilities will include ingesting and organizing footage, assembling rough cuts, refining visual storytelling, and collaborating with the director on pacing and narrative structure. We're looking for someone with at least 3-5 years of documentary editing experience. You'll need to have your own editing suite and software, preferably Adobe Premiere Pro, and a strong understanding of documentary narrative. Please send a reel demonstrating your expertise, especially any documentary work. While this is a partnership opportunity based on revenue share, it's a chance to be part of a meaningful story and potentially gain significant exposure. We anticipate post-production to run approximately 3-4 months, with flexible hours. We'll provide all raw footage and project assets. Let's make something great together!
