Editing for Documentary
An independent production is seeking a talented Junior Editor for an upcoming documentary feature based in New York City. This project delves into the untold stories of immigrant communities, offering a humanizing and intimate portrait of their resilience and contributions. We're looking for someone enthusiastic about character-driven narratives and emotionally resonant storytelling. Your primary responsibilities will include ingesting footage, organizing media, sync mapping, creating assembly edits (rough cuts), and assisting the lead editor with various post-production tasks. We need someone proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro, ideally with some experience in documentary workflows. Please have a reel or portfolio showcasing your editing skills, even if it's from student films or personal projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for an entry-level editor to gain significant experience on a high-quality documentary. Familiarity with basic color correction and sound editing would be a plus. We are seeking someone available 3-4 days a week, with some flexibility. The exact schedule will be discussed during the interview process. Compensation is $500-800/day, depending on experience. All necessary editing equipment and software will be provided at our office space in New York. We're aiming for an immediate start.
