DP, Nashville Documentary (Deferred)
This job posting is closed.
Hey Nashville cinematographers, I'm Andre, a music composer, working on an independent documentary project about the intersection of modern folk music and Appalachian storytelling. It's a character-driven piece, intimate and authentic, aiming for a raw, visually poetic feel. We're looking for a skilled Director of Photography to help bring this vision to life. Your main responsibilities will include collaborating closely with the director on visual storytelling, executing a cinematic managing lighting, and capturing compelling vérité footage and interviews. We need someone who can work efficiently with a small crew and adapt to various on-location scenarios. Must have your own camera package (cinema camera preferred), lighting kit, and sound recording capabilities (or be able to manage a sound op). Mid-level experience with documentary work is essential. Please send over your reel, showcasing your visual style and ability to capture nuanced human stories. Shoot dates are flexible but looking at late summer/early fall, anticipating around 10-15 days spread over a few months, mostly weekends. This is a passion project offering points plus deferred compensation. We'll handle location permits and some travel expenses.
