Art Assistant (Set Dec) - Sci-Fi Pilot, Chicago

Hey filmmakers, I'm Amara Okafor, a documentary filmmaker working on an exciting sci-fi pilot. This is an independent production with a unique visual style, imagine a grounded sci-fi aesthetic with a touch of surrealism. We're looking for an enthusiastic Art Assistant, focusing on set decoration, to join our team in Chicago. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone looking to get hands-on experience in a dynamic art department. Your primary role will be assisting our Art Director with sourcing, fabricating, and organizing props and set dressing. You'll be helping to bring our futuristic yet lived-in world to life, so a keen eye for detail and a knack for problem-solving are key. We're looking for someone with a basic understanding of set decoration principles and a willingness to jump in where needed. While not strictly required, any experience with prop crafting, set dressing, or even just working in a creative, hands-on environment would be a huge plus. Please share any relevant portfolio work, even if it's personal projects, that shows your aesthetic and skills. Shoot dates are approximate but will be in late October, early November, likely 3-4 days a week for two weeks. This is a paid position, offering $1000-1500 per day, depending on experience. We'll provide lunch and snacks on set. Come help us build something cool!
