Gaffer for Sci-Fi Web Series

Hey filmmakers! We're putting together an independent sci-fi web series here in Detroit and looking for a Gaffer to join our team. This project delves into themes of artificial intelligence and human connection, blending a gritty, near-future aesthetic with moments of emotional intimacy. We're aiming for a visually striking series, and the right Gaffer will be crucial in achieving that look. As our Gaffer, you'll be responsible for designing and executing the lighting plans, working closely with the Director of Photography to translate their vision into reality. This includes setting up and striking lights, managing power, and overseeing the lighting crew. Any experience level is welcome, whether you're just starting out or have a few projects under your belt. We don't expect you to bring a full lighting package, but a basic kit or access to some gear would be a plus. A strong understanding of various lighting techniques and safety protocols is essential. Please have a reel or some work samples readily available that showcase your lighting skills. Shoot dates are flexible and will be scheduled primarily on weekends over the next few months, with approximate 10-hour days. We'll provide craft services and a great collaborative environment.
