Gaffer for Sci-Fi Drama Short

Hey everyone, Luc here. I'm posting for a Gaffer to join an independent short film project shooting in Montreal this summer. We're working on a compelling sci-fi drama, a character-driven piece with a subtle, atmospheric tone. Think less explosions, more emotional intensity. This is a chance to really contribute to the visual storytelling and help bring a unique vision to life. As our Gaffer, you'll be crucial in shaping the look and feel of each scene. Your main responsibilities will include collaborating with the DP on lighting setups, managing all electrical needs on set, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Experience with various lighting equipment and a good understanding of set practices are a must. A reel or examples of your previous work would be great, but we're open to all experience levels if you've got the passion and a willingness to learn. We anticipate shooting for approximately 3-4 days in late July or early August, with some prep days beforehand. We're a small, dedicated crew and this is a volunteer position, but hot meals, snacks, and plenty of coffee will be provided on set. Of course, you'll get a full screen credit for your valuable contribution. Looking forward to hearing from you!
