Gaffer for Sci-Fi Short Film

Hey filmmakers, we're looking for a Gaffer to join our team for an upcoming sci-fi short film shooting here in New Orleans. This is a visually driven story, a bit mysterious and atmospheric, exploring themes of memory and disconnection. We're a small, independent production, and this is a great chance to contribute creatively to a cool project. As our Gaffer, you'll be essential in shaping the look and feel of our film. Key responsibilities include collaborating with our DP to execute lighting plans, overseeing the electric team, managing lighting equipment, and ensuring safety on set. We're open to all experience levels, from seasoned pros to talented emerging Gaffers who are eager to learn and bring their skills to the table. Shoot dates are approximately late April or early May, likely 3-4 days, with some prep days beforehand. We'll be providing all necessary lighting and grip equipment, so you won't need to bring your own gear. A reel or examples of previous lighting work would be great to see, even if it's student work or personal projects.
