Gaffer (or Best Boy/Girl Electric) for Short Film

Short Film Cinematography Atlanta, GA any Budget: $250/day flat

Hey filmmakers, my name is Keisha and I'm a wardrobe stylist in Atlanta. I'm working with a small independent production on a super cool upcoming short film and we're looking for a Gaffer (or experienced Best Boy/Girl Electric ready to step up). It's a suspenseful dark comedy, think 'Fargo' meets 'Get Out' vibes, with some really interesting production design that we want to light creatively. We need someone to lead our lighting crew, interpret the DP's vision, and execute efficient, impactful lighting setups. You'll be responsible for managing all lighting equipment, power distribution, and ensuring safety on set. We're looking for someone with a solid understanding of set electricity, various lighting instruments, and who can problem-solve quickly under pressure. You should have your own basic G&E kit, though a larger package isn't required as we have some rental resources. Experience on at least one short film or similar project is preferred. Please send a reel or examples of your lighting work, or just tell us about a project you're proud of. Shoot dates are approximately 4-5 days late July or early August, exact dates TBD. Days will be 10-12 hours. We're offering a flat rate of $250/day. Meals and craft services will be provided on set. Looking forward to hearing from you!
