Cinematography for Feature Film
Our upcoming independent feature film, a suspenseful psychological drama with a strong visual style, is seeking an enthusiastic entry-level Gaffer. The story delves into themes of isolation and perception, requiring lighting that builds tension and subtly guides the audience. You'll work closely with our Cinematographer, helping to translate their vision into practical lighting setups. Key responsibilities include assisting with the design and implementation of the lighting plan, setting up and striking lights, managing power distribution, and ensuring safety on set. We're looking for someone eager to learn and contribute, with a basic understanding of lighting equipment and electrical safety. While we don't expect extensive experience, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a basic gear package (e.g., small grip/electric kit for personal use, though production will provide primary lighting) are a plus. Please share any relevant work samples or a brief explanation of your experience. This is a deferred pay position, common for passion projects at this level. We anticipate shoot dates will be approximately 3-4 weeks, starting around October 28, 2026, primarily in the Los Angeles area. Standard 10-12 hour days are expected. Craft services and water will be provided.
