Doc Production Asst. (PA) - LA

Seeking a dedicated Production Assistant for an independent documentary project filming in Los Angeles, CA. This entry-level role is perfect for someone eager to get hands-on experience in documentary production. The film explores the vibrant, often unseen subculture of competitive street performance, focusing on the passion and grit of its participants. We need someone who can jump in and assist our small crew with various on-set tasks from day one. You'll be helping with logistics, keeping schedules, wrangling talent, and generally ensuring everything runs smoothly. Key responsibilities include assisting the director and cinematographer, coordinating equipment moves, managing releases, and light administrative duties. We're looking for someone organized, proactive, and with a positive attitude. No specific gear is required, but prior set experience, even on student films, is a plus. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential. The shoot will primarily take place on weekends, with a target of approximately 6-8 days of filming spread over a few weeks, starting around October 15, 2026. We're a small, passionate team, and while this is a volunteer position, we provide meals and a copy of the finished film for your reel.
