Entry-Level DP, Music Video (NYC)

Seeking an enthusiastic Director of Photography for a vibrant music video project, an independent production featuring an emerging pop artist. We're looking to create something visually dynamic and narrative-driven, blending contemporary pop aesthetics with a touch of surrealism. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build their reel with a high-energy, creative piece. Your main task will be to light and shoot the entire video, translating the director's vision into compelling visuals. You'll be responsible for camera operation, lighting design, and collaborating closely with the director and gaffer. We expect you to bring your own camera package (e.g., Blackmagic Pocket, Sony a7S series, Canon C70) and a basic lighting kit suitable for a small-scale music video shoot. Previous experience on set, even in a PA or assistant role, is a plus, but a strong visual sense and a concise reel showing your work (even student films or personal projects) are essential. Shoot dates are approximately 1-2 days in mid October 2026, with about 3 weeks of prep and post-shoot consultation. You'll work standard 10-12 hour days. Compensation is $2000-3000/week, covering your shoot days and a portion of prep. We're providing location, craft services, and a dedicated gaffer to assist you.
