Cinematography for Web Series

Seeking a dedicated 1st AC to join our small, independent production team for an upcoming web series filming in Montreal. This project is a dramatic comedy exploring themes of friendship and self-discovery, with a stylized visual approach that balances realism with a slightly heightened aesthetic. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running with excellent focus pulling and camera management skills. Your key responsibilities will include maintaining critical focus, setting up and breaking down camera packages, assisting with lens changes, and ensuring overall camera department efficiency. We value clear communication and a proactive attitude. We're running a Sony FX6 with prime lenses, so familiarity with this system is a big plus. While this is an entry-level position, we do require a solid understanding of camera systems and at least one prior set experience as a 1st AC or 2nd AC. Please include a short reel or portfolio showcasing any relevant work, even if it's from student projects or smaller productions. Shoot dates are approximately 5-7 days spread across October 2026, with an estimated 10-hour day. Compensation is $150-300 per day, depending on experience. We'll provide lunch and transportation from a central meeting point within Montreal. This is a great opportunity to gain more experience on a narrative project and expand your network.
