Mid-Level Sound Designer, Indie Feature (Remote OK)
Hey there. I'm Jordan, an aerial cinematographer, and I'm currently working on an independent feature film that needs a talented sound designer. It's a psychological drama with some thriller elements, a character-driven story set in a gritty, urban landscape. We're aiming for a really immersive and unsettling sonic experience to enhance the tension and emotional depth. We just wrapped principal photography, so we're moving into post-production. We're looking for someone with around 3-5 years of experience in sound design for narrative features. You'll be responsible for all aspects of sound design, from sound effects, Foley, and atmosphere, to dialogue cleanup and preliminary mixes. We’d ideally like someone with their own professional-grade DAW and sound libraries. A strong portfolio demonstrating your creative approach to storytelling through sound is a must. This is a mid-level position, and while we're based in Detroit, we're totally open to remote work for the right person. We're looking at a 6-8 week commitment for the bulk of the post-production sound work, negotiable hours. We'll provide you with all cut footage, spotting notes, and a clear communication channel with our director. Compensation is TBD, and we're definitely open to discussion based on your experience and rates. Send over your reel and a little about your experience!
