Sound Design for Pilot

Seeking a talented Sound Designer for an upcoming independent pilot production in Auckland, New Zealand. We're looking at a commitment of about 3-4 weeks starting around October 6, 2026, for a TBD flat rate or daily rate, with final deliverables due in early November 2026. This pilot is a sci-fi drama with a psychological thriller edge, focusing on atmospheric tension and character internal struggle. Think subtle, eerie soundscapes blended with impactful, futuristic effects. We need someone who can craft a nuanced sonic world that elevates the emotional stakes and grounds the futuristic elements. Key responsibilities include designing all sound effects, Foley recording or sourcing, ambient sounds, and mixing dialogue, music, and effects into a cohesive final track. You'll be working closely with the director and editor to refine the audio vision. While specific gear isn't mandatory, a strong understanding of professional audio software (e.g., Pro Tools, Reaper, Nuendo) and a home or accessible studio setup are essential. We're open to all experience levels; your reel demonstrating your creative sound design capabilities and attention to detail is paramount. This is a passion project with potential for series pickup, offering a great opportunity to build your portfolio. We'll provide all necessary picture and music files.
