Post-Production for Music Video
This job posting is closed.
Hey Toronto film community, I'm a Colorist working on an exciting upcoming independent music video project and we're looking for an Assistant Editor. This is for an upbeat, visually ambitious pop track, so we're aiming for a dynamic and engaging cut. We've got some great footage coming in and need someone sharp to help organize, ingest, and set up the foundation for the edit. Your primary responsibilities will include media management (ingesting, logging, syncing), creating proxies, preparing dailies, and assembling initial selects. You'll work closely with the lead editor to ensure a smooth workflow. We're looking for someone with basic experience in Adobe Premiere Pro, a meticulous eye for detail, and a general understanding of post-production pipelines. Please have your own laptop with Premiere, but we can potentially provide a dedicated editing workstation if needed. If you have a passion for music videos and are looking to get your foot in the door, this is a great opportunity. This is an entry-level position with deferred compensation (points plus deferred payment once the project is funded/sold). We anticipate approximately 1-2 weeks of work, starting shortly after our shoot wraps in mid-July. Dates are flexible around the lead editor's schedule. Please send over your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and interest. Even if you don't have a specific editing reel, any examples of organizational skills or personal projects would be great to see.
