Production Design for Pilot

We're looking for an enthusiastic Production Designer to join our team for an independent sci-fi pilot filming in San Francisco. This project blends gritty realism with subtle futuristic elements, so we need someone with a keen eye for detail and a knack for creating immersive environments on a modest budget. You'll be responsible for translating script ideas into visual concepts, sourcing props and set dressings, coordinating with our small crew, and ensuring the aesthetic consistency of the entire production. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build their portfolio and gain hands-on experience in production design. You should be comfortable working independently and collaborating closely with the director and DP to bring our vision to life. Applicants should have some experience, perhaps from student films or personal projects, creating production design concepts and executing them. While we don't expect you to own an entire studio's worth of gear, familiarity with basic set construction, prop sourcing, and styling is a must. A portfolio or reel showcasing your design work is required. The pilot shoot is scheduled for approximately 1-2 days in late August 2026, with prep work commencing about three weeks prior. We anticipate full days during the shoot, and flexible hours for prep. Compensation for this role is negotiable based on experience.
