Production Designer, Music Video (Chicago)

We need a skilled Production Designer to join our independent production, starting around late August 2026. This upcoming project is an electrifying pop music video with a vibrant, surreal tone, featuring intricate set pieces and dynamic visual storytelling. We're looking for someone creative who can bring bold, imaginative concepts to life on a modest budget. You'll be responsible for conceptualizing and executing the visual aesthetic of the video, including set design, prop sourcing, and overall art direction. This involves collaborating closely with the director and DP to realize their vision, managing the art department budget, and overseeing construction and decoration. Experience with music video or short film production design is preferred, along with a strong portfolio showcasing your work. You should be resourceful, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently under pressure. Shoot dates are approximately 1-2 days, scheduled for early September 2026 in Chicago. Prep work will require about 2-3 weeks prior to the shoot. We provide all necessary materials and tools for set construction and decoration. This is a paid position, offering $2000-3000 per week for approximately 3-4 weeks of work.
