Production Design for Short Film
We're shooting an ambitious neo-noir short film in Bristol, primarily in the first half of October 2026, over approximately 5-6 shooting days. This independent production is a suspenseful drama, exploring themes of memory and obsession through a stylized, slightly anachronistic lens. We're aiming for a strong festival run and are looking for a Production Designer to help bring our unique visual world to life. We need someone who can work resourcefully to create distinct, atmospheric sets and locations that evoke a sense of timeless decay and psychological tension. This role will involve about 3 weeks of work, including prep. Key responsibilities include collaborating closely with the Director and DP on visual concepts, designing and overseeing the construction or dressing of sets, sourcing props and set dressing (with support from our Props Master), and managing the art department budget. We're looking for a mid-level Production Designer with a proven track record (please provide a portfolio or reel) and experience on narrative shorts or features. Strong organizational skills and a creative eye for detail are essential. You’ll be working with a passionate, dedicated crew. Compensation is paid, $300-500/day, depending on experience. Production will provide a budget for materials and cover standard expenses.
