Production Design for Short Film

Seeking a talented Production Designer for an upcoming independent short film, shooting 1-2 days around September 19, 2026. This is a paid position at $250/day flat. Our project is a darkly comedic sci-fi piece, exploring a day in the life of a bureaucratic space agency. We need someone with a keen eye for detail and a knack for creating a futuristic yet slightly mundane environment on a modest budget. Think 'Brazil' meets 'The Office' in space. Your main responsibilities will include collaborating with the director on the overall visual aesthetic, sourcing or creating props and set dressing, and managing the art department on set. We're open to all experience levels; your portfolio or reel (even student work) is what matters most. While specific gear isn't required, any personal tools or a network for sourcing unique items would be a plus. We’ll provide a clear vision, creative freedom within the budget, and a fun, supportive set. Pre-production will involve a few meetings and some prop/set dressing acquisition starting around September 2, 2026, totaling about 3-4 days of work. We shoot in the Los Angeles area.
