Production for Commercial

Seeking a talented Gaffer for a commercial shoot in Chicago, IL, offering $2000-3000/week for approximately 3 weeks of work. We’re producing a commercial for a well-known food delivery service, focusing on vibrant, dynamic shots of food and people. The tone is energetic and aspirational, with a clean, contemporary aesthetic. This independent production needs someone who can creatively light diverse settings, from home kitchens to urban street scenes. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the DP on lighting design, leading a small lighting crew, ensuring safe operation of all equipment, and maintaining a positive, efficient set environment. We're looking for someone with at least 1-2 years of gaffing experience on commercial or narrative projects. You should be familiar with a range of lighting fixtures, including LEDs and practicals, and comfortable working quickly and efficiently. Please have your own basic gaffing package (meters, stingers, hand tools), though most major lighting units will be provided. A link to your reel or portfolio showcasing your lighting work is essential. Prep will begin in the last week of September 2026, with principal photography planned for the first half of October 2026. Expect 10-12 hour days. Craft services and lunch will be provided on shoot days.
