Production for Documentary

Seeking a Lead Editor for a feature documentary project, approximately 10-12 weeks of work starting late October 2026. This is a deferred compensation role, offering a backend percentage. Our independent production is exploring the unique cultural tapestry and hidden histories of New Mexico, with a focus on compelling character-driven narratives and stunning visuals. We've amassed a significant amount of rich footage and are looking for a senior editor to craft a powerful, nuanced story. You will be responsible for leading the post-production workflow, assembling rough cuts, refining picture and sound with our director, and managing media. Experience with long-form documentary storytelling is essential. Candidates must have their own professional editing suite (preferably DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere) and be comfortable working independently, though collaboration is key. Please provide a reel demonstrating your documentary editing expertise. We will provide all raw media, project files, and regular creative feedback.
