Production for Pilot

An independent production based in Atlanta is gearing up for an exciting sci-fi drama pilot and needs a talented Gaffer to join our small team. This project delves into a near-future world exploring themes of artificial intelligence and human connection, with a grounded, atmospheric tone. We're looking for someone who can creatively light diverse sets, from intimate domestic scenes to visually striking tech labs, enhancing the pilot's distinctive aesthetic. Key responsibilities include collaborating closely with the DP to execute the lighting plan, managing grip and electric crew, ensuring safety protocols are met, and overseeing the setup and breakdown of all lighting equipment. You should have at least 3-5 years of experience as a Gaffer on narrative productions, a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, and the ability to work efficiently within a tight schedule. Please have your own basic G&E kit (meters, stingers, distro) available, though we will be renting a comprehensive package for specialty lights. A reel showcasing your narrative work is essential. We anticipate approximately 5-7 shoot days, likely spread over two weeks in late October or early November 2026, with some prep days beforehand. Hours will be standard 10-12 hour days. Lunch and crafty will be provided on set. Pay is $1000-1500 per day, commensurate with experience. We're looking to fill this role by late September, so please apply by October 29, 2026.
