Production for Short Film

Seeking a talented Gaffer to light our sci-fi short film, 'Aether Drift,' a contained, moody piece exploring themes of isolation and humanity's future. We're looking for someone who can craft cinematic, atmospheric lighting with a strong understanding of dramatic tension. You'll be working closely with our DP to achieve specific visual goals, helping to translate our vision from script to screen. Your main responsibilities will include setting up and striking lighting equipment, managing power distribution, and collaborating on lighting design. We need someone with their own basic kit, including stands, flags, and some small LED units. Experience with independent productions and a strong portfolio demonstrating creative lighting solutions are a must. This is a volunteer position, but meals and a copy of the finished film will be provided. The shoot is currently scheduled for 2-3 days around October 7, 2026, with some prep days beforehand. We're a small, passionate crew based in Brooklyn, and we're excited to bring this unique story to life.
