Screenwriting for Pilot

Hey filmmakers! I'm Ngozi Emeka, a screenwriter, and we're looking for a talented Director of Photography for an exciting upcoming pilot. This project is a gritty crime drama, shot entirely in Lagos, with a strong focus on character-driven storytelling and a visually engaging, somewhat atmospheric tone - think early 'The Wire' meets Nigerian urban life. We need someone who can translate complex emotional beats into vivid imagery. Your main responsibilities will include collaborating closely with the director to establish the visual language, lighting and framing decisions, and overseeing the camera and grip departments. We're looking for someone with mid-level experience on independent productions, a solid understanding of visual storytelling, and ideally, experience shooting in diverse Lagos locations. A strong reel showcasing your narrative work is essential. While we don't expect you to bring a full gear package, familiarity with professional cinema cameras (e.g., Blackmagic, FX6/9, Red Komodo) is a plus. We’re aiming for principal photography around late October, early November, lasting about 5-7 days. This is a deferred compensation role, offering a backend percentage, as is common in independent pilot productions. Let's make some magic!
