VFX for Short Film

Looking for a talented VFX Artist for an independent short film shooting in Chicago, IL, primarily September 2026. This is a dramatic sci-fi piece, exploring themes of memory and reality through a visually rich, slightly dystopian lens. It features unique digital effects to enhance its psychological depth, rather than big explosions. We need someone who can handle a variety of tasks, from subtle set extensions and clean-up to creating more complex, almost dreamlike visual phenomena crucial to the narrative. Key responsibilities include compositing, rotoscoping, tracking, and generating specific digital elements. Experience with Nuke, After Effects, or similar industry-standard software is essential. Please share your reel or portfolio demonstrating your capabilities. While prior short film experience is a plus, we are open to working with artists at any stage of their career who have a strong creative vision and technical skills. Expect approximately 2-3 weeks of concentrated work, with flexible hours around our post-production schedule. We will provide all necessary footage, project files, and clear creative direction. This is a deferred payment opportunity, with a share of potential festival earnings and a strong portfolio piece.
