Sound Reports & New Metadata: Are Post Teams Actually Using It?

Hey everyone, Rachel Adeyemi here, a documentary editor grappling with the ever-evolving tech landscape. I just finished a project shot on an FX3 with a MixPre-6 II, and the sound reports were impressively detailed, even with some AI-assisted logging from our sound recordist. This isn't the first time I've seen more robust metadata coming in from set, whether it's from a Zoom F8n Pro or even something like the Tentacle Track E. My question is, how are you all approaching Production Sound Reports now?

I'm curious if these advancements with better metadata capabilities in recorders, or even dedicated AI-assisted logging apps, are truly changing how you generate or use these reports in post. Are you finding post-production teams, especially assistant editors or even picture editors, actually leveraging this new, richer data effectively? Or is it still mostly just a check-the-box exercise that doesn't fully translate into more efficient workflows downstream?
