Adapting Comprehensive Workflows for Fast-Paced Commercial/Doc Projects?

Hey everyone,

I'm Rohan Kapoor, a DP who usually works on larger commercial spots and narrative projects where a full look book, detailed lighting plots, and extensive grading sessions are the norm. My typical kit includes an ALEXA 35 or VENICE 2, often with Orbiter lights or SkyPanel Xs, so I'm used to a certain level of control.

However, I've recently been taking on more fast-turnaround commercial content and documentary work. The comprehensive workflow (from the look book creation to testing specific LUTs with the DIT on set and then supervising the final grade) is just not practical with tight timelines and often limited pre-pro. Sometimes I'm jumping straight into a shoot with an a7S III or a Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 and just a couple of amaran 150c's, expected to deliver great results quickly.

I've tried leaning heavily on in-camera picture profiles or a single go-to creative LUT, but I feel like I'm losing some of that 'ideal' vision translation. How do you all distill that extensive pre-production and post-production process into something manageable for these rapid-fire gigs without sacrificing too much quality or control?
