Hybrid Release Strategy: Day-and-Date vs. Exclusive Window - How Do YOU Decide?

Hey everyone,

I'm Miguel, a drone operator, and I recently directed a short documentary about urban exploration. We shot it mostly on an AMIRA with a few FPV shots from my own drone, and honestly, the footage looks fantastic. We got some amazing audio too, thanks to a borrowed MKH 50.

Now we're deep into figuring out the release strategy. We're looking at a hybrid model, but the options are overwhelming. Specifically, I'm trying to decide between a day-and-date TVOD/AVOD launch on platforms versus a 30-day TVOD exclusive window before wider availability.

Our team is small, and we've poured our hearts into this. We've done some initial festival runs, but now it's about getting it to a broader audience and, hopefully, recouping some costs. I'm keen to maximize visibility but also capture some early revenue.

For those of you who have navigated this, how do you weigh the pros and cons of these different hybrid release strategies for your specific films? What factors push you toward one over the other?
