DIY Sound Prep: Maximizing Alts & Metadata on a Tight Budget?

Hey DPs and ADs,

I'm wrapping up a short film shot on a C70, a real passion project, which means a super tight budget. We simply can't afford a dedicated sound editor for post. I'm going to be handling the initial sound organization myself, which is new territory for me beyond basic syncing.

My biggest concern is making sure the audio I deliver is actually usable, especially when it comes to 'Alts' and maximizing the embedded metadata. We used an 833 with an MKH 50 for most dialogue, and I know our mixer diligently recorded alternative takes and made notes.

What are your best practices for prepping production audio for post in this 'DIY' scenario? Specifically, how do you manage and flag Alts so they're easily accessible, and what metadata should I absolutely be checking/adding to ensure a smooth delivery without a professional sound team at the other end? Any tips to avoid a complete headache down the line would be hugely appreciated.
