Mastering for calibrated vs. uncalibrated client screens - how do you balance?

Hey everyone, I'm Andre, a composer, stepping into a bit more post-production these days. I'm finishing up a short film I scored, and I'm tackling the final master. I've got my monitoring set up (grading monitor calibrated, good headphones for audio), and I'm striving for that technically perfect deliverable. The issue is, I know this film is going to be reviewed by clients, likely on uncalibrated laptops, tablets, and even phones, probably playing back in VLC or whatever default player they have.

I've seen the advice to always QC on professional setups, which I'm doing. But how do you reconcile that with the reality of client feedback coming from such varied, often inaccurate, viewing platforms? Are you making slight artistic compromises in the master to 'future proof' it for these less-than-ideal environments, or do you stick rigidly to the calibrated ideal and just hope for the best? It feels like a catch-22 sometimes. What's your approach?
