Reference Video/Burn-in for Sound: Hidden Sync Traps?
Hey everyone,
As a motion graphics artist, I often find myself building out reference videos for sound designers. I try to be diligent with my exports, ensuring they have the right frame rates, timecode burn-ins, and audio references. I usually work with footage from an ALEXA Mini or a V-RAPTOR XL, so the source material is typically solid.
However, I'm genuinely curious about the 'gotchas' in this process. What are the most common mistakes or oversights you've witnessed, especially with beginners (or even pros under a tight deadline), when setting up reference video specs and their burn-ins for sound? I'm talking about the subtle things that consistently lead to sync headaches down the line in post. I want to make sure I'm not inadvertently creating issues for our sound team.
What are the absolute biggest pitfalls to avoid?
