Integrating Midjourney AI art into production design: maintaining human artistry?
Hey everyone,
Luc here, Steadicam Op, usually I'm wrangling an ALEXA Mini or V-RAPTOR XL, but I'm looking for some insight on a different side of production. We've been experimenting with Midjourney for concept art on a few smaller projects. The speed and sheer volume of ideas it generates are undeniably impressive, especially when we're trying to quickly visualize different set dressings or prop concepts.
My question is this: for those of you working in production design, how are you effectively integrating AI-generated concept art into your traditional workflow? I'm trying to wrap my head around how to use it as a powerful springboard without undermining or disrupting the invaluable work human concept artists and illustrators bring to the table. We don't want it to feel like job displacement, but rather an enhancement. Any best practices or strategies you've found successful?
